benzoyl peroxide

Benzoyl peroxide can come as a non-prescription medication that can be used as an acne treatment.  BP combats acne by removing bacteria from the pores and providing it with oxygen which in turn reduces breakouts.   BP works as a peeling agent, it removes dead skin cells and induces skin turnover which clears pores and lowers the bacteria count.  Treatments work best when used on a continual basis.  It is available in different forms such as gels, creams and lotions.
